Border Control & Law Enforcement Systems
Since 2000 Kögun has provided services to the Ministry of Justice and the National Commissioner of Icelandic Police as well as the Icelandic Directorate of Immigration regarding implementation of border control and law enforcement applications in Iceland. The systems fielded in Iceland in recent years or currently in implementation include the following:
- SIS1 and SIS1+ National solutions
- SIS II National System
- VIS including BMS client
- VIS-Mail
- VISION
- SIRENE
The Systems above, currently in operation, have all been evaluated and certified for live operation by the Schengen Commission. Regarding the system in development, National SIS II and VIS, Iceland has met all common scheduled milestones in good advance. Iceland completed the SIS II Compliance Tests last year with a 95% success rate, one of the highest among the Schengen Member States. In the VIS project, Iceland has completed the National Tests and Application Connectivity Tests, and is starting pre-Compliance Tests.
Principality of Liechtenstein
Kögun has recently contracted with the Principality of Liechtenstein regarding procurement and deployment of the systems listed above in connection with Liechtenstein becoming a full Schengen treaty member nation. Deployment of all systems is currently underway in Liechtenstein with completion scheduled by end of 2009.
The systems are all built around a highly modular platform enabling us to offer customization for each customer at a minimal cost. This flexibility allows us to provide a complete turn-key solution for any of the above systems in a much shorter calendar time than our competitors.
